This page explains what our meetings do, and how various people can participate
Purpose of meetings:
The Currarong Community Association general meetings offer a venue for members and visitors to hear what’s happening, particularly liaison with entities like the Shoalhaven City Council, the weapons range, state or federal government and others. Recent guest speakers have included the local mayor, council members, federal defence officials, and the federal member of parliament.
Frequency & length:
The CCA has meetings about 6 times a year, for an hour or two, often on a Saturday afternoon.
Meeting dates for 2025
22 February, 26 April, 21 June, 23 August, 18 October (includes the AGM), and 13 December.

Who typically speaks or runs the meeting
The president of the association typically chairs the meeting or appoints a chair, and other officers and members of the committee deliver reports and take questions on the agenda, which is emailed beforehand and updated on the day. Anyone from the floor is welcome to speak on a particular topic, but may need to check with chair about which agenda item it fits under.
Typical agenda, who to contact to suggest another agenda item
Agenda items include minutes of last meeting, financial reports, reports on particular projects, other specific items relevant at the time, and general business where last minute items are usually put.
What gets put to a vote:
Minutes, financial reports and certain other issues are put to a vote. Elections to committee officer roles occurs at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) late in the year.
Who can vote
Members who are financial as at the date of meeting can vote.
How minutes and agenda get circulated, and when
These documents get circulated to members of the association by email before each meeting.
